What is Creative Consulting?
Creative Consulting is a process Brian has used to help countless students and professionals take their craft to the next level, crack the code on a tough act 3, or find that missing piece that makes it work structurally and thematically. As a film and storytelling professor Brian has worked with hundreds of students, strengthening craft and story alike. As a professional Brian has worked with writers at ABC, HBO and USA to bring concepts to fruition.

Creative Consulting is for anyone working on a story who could use a little bit (or a lot) of help. Brian has worked with budding novelists, keynote speakers, screenwriters, filmmakers, and even marketing executives to improve their stories, strengthen their craft and inspire their creative spirit. Creative Consulting is for you if:

Why Creative Consulting Works
Creative Consulting works because it is a collaborative process guided by Brian’s storytelling instincts and knowledge of craft as well as your deep core inspiration and unique creative expression. It works because it includes, expands, and deepens; it does not shut down, dismiss or reject. It is pointed and specific but also expansive and flexible. Brainstorming with Brian is a process of creation, limitless in essence but guided by tried and true storytelling principles nonetheless.
What Creative Consulting is Not
Creative Consulting is not coaching or therapy, it is consulting. For that reason it is focused on your story/script/film/novel/speech etc, while coaching/therapy is focused on you as a person. Creative Consulting will always come with a component for me to read/watch/view/study etc. and provide comprehensive notes and feedback. Step 02
Submit Your Project or Pages (Its FREE!!)
Submitting your project or pages is completely free. No CC required. If you aren’t sure if you should submit a project go for it! There is nothing to lose. Brian will only accept projects and artists that he believes he can help. If you’re stuck inside your own creative brain, let Brian show you how to get back out, and bring all those glorious and uncooperative ideas with you! Once your project is approved you will move seamlessly to step #3.
Step 03
Once Approved, Make Payment
Once your project has been accepted (typically within 3-5 business days) you will receive an email with a customized individual payment link for the Comprehensive Notes & Feedback and a separate link for the optional 75-minute Creative Consultation. At this point you can decide if you want only the written notes and feedback or if you also want to book the 75-minute consultation (don’t worry, you can always change your mind and add the consultation later). Once payment is received you will automatically move on to step #4.
Step 04
Review Your Notes & Schedule Consultation
Within 28 days of receipt of your payment (usually less than 14 days!) you will receive an email with your Comprehensive Notes & Feedback. If you also opted for a consultation you will receive an email to schedule your consultation for a date guaranteed within that 28 day period. Please review the notes before our consultation and come ready with questions.
Step 05
Receive Comprehensive Written Notes Before We Meet
A few days prior to your scheduled Creative Consultation you will receive an email with your Submission Analysis, comprehensive notes and feedback. Please review these notes before our consultation and come ready with questions.

Brian will review your project and all of his notes live in session, answer your questions and brainstorm any stuck spots with you.

What if I don’t have a project or pages, but just have ideas, will a creative consolation help me?
Yes! If you are an idea factory (like me!) then just submit a PDF describing the ideas you’d like to discuss when we meet. The first 5 pages of submission material are FREE, so you might as well take a few pages to describe anything you want me to know so we can maximize our time. That said, if you’d rather just set up a meeting and wing it, I’m here for it! Lets do this!
What is the maximum number of pages/minutes I can submit?
120. Brian does not review material past 120 pages or 120 minutes. If you would like to discuss an exception to this policy reach out directly to our support team at support@thebrianhogan.com
Can I get a refund?
Yes! You can get a full refund for your submission review up until Brian has started work on your project. This is usually somewhere between 3-7 days from when payment is made. You can get a full refund for the Creative Consultation itself up to 48 hours before the session. If there are extenuating circumstances please email our support team at support@thebrianhogan.com
What types of projects do you consult on?
Stories! Any kind of stories. My most common clients are working on scripts, films and novels, however I have helped clients improve stories for speeches, marketing copy, music videos, college essays, documentaries, and much more. If you have a story to tell and you are stuck, you have come to the right place.
